Surfaces and substrates
Wood siding, trim, fascia and soffits are the surfaces that most often need attention first, because they take the direct weathering. Aluminium siding can be repainted successfully once it is properly cleaned and primed for the substrate. Previously painted brick needs a breathable system, and unpainted brick is generally best left unpainted unless there is a specific reason to change it.
